Always something to do even in poor weather. The gardens look great in all seasons and can still be enjoyed on a wet day when we visited. Good tea rooms to get a drink or more. Parking is free and plenty of it.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Good guides with plenty of knowledge. Lovely cream teas served in restaurant. We were lucky with great weather on the day we were there.
Absolutely wonderful staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable we really enjoyed our visit. Such a shame we couldn't visit the first floor. Well worth a visit.
Osbourne house, favourite home of Queen Victoria, probably the jewel in the crown of historic buildings on the Isle of Wight. If you love palaces and royalty this place has a unique and splendid atmosphere, and is child friendly,as long as they keep those inquisitive hands off the furniture and furnishings.Wonderful gardens and even a bay, lovely, weather permitting. Reasonably priced entrance charges, free to members of English heritage. I found the staff very friendly and knowledgeable, enjoy your visit.
The estate is beautiful and on a sunny day it makes a very nice day out. Unfortunately in winter it is mostly closed, but they will not hesitate to cash in on the hefty ticket price. On my visit only the ground floor and the gardens were open. The residential floors, the Swiss cottage and pretty much everything else was shut for the season. Very disappointing, especially considering that if you dont live on the island, coming here can be quite expensive. Very disappointing indeed.
